I was recently asked to be a dragon and a guest speaker for the Water Street Dragons Den event put on by the Water Street Profile. Many start-ups with unique inventions and product lines competed weekly to get to the finals. The grand prize winner would win $75,000 worth of services, consultations and resources to help them grow their business and product. The event is an adaptation of the original Dragons Den series.
I was asked first to be a Water Street dragon for one event evaluating and judging an event. I happened to ask the tough questions and asked all the candidates what their social or online strategies would entail. Overall there was all kinds of different personalities representing their representative products. Ultimately Sherry Strong ended up winning the event taking home the grand prizes. I also ended up being a guest speaker giving a brief insight on content curation and the benefits of having a content strategy for any business.
